Consortium
Member Scholarships
AMERC
typically reserves $100 per projected student for individual scholarships
from each grant awarded. That is, if a member school requests $10,000
and projects 15 seminary students will participate in the course, AMERC
makes a course grant of $8,500 and reserves $1,500 for scholarships.
The
following guidelines apply:
- The
maximum scholarship award per individual is $500.
- Sponsoring
schools should refer requests for scholarships, from the AMERC pool,
directly to AMERC. Referring schools may elect, but are not required,
to make recommendations.
- Individual
requests to AMERC may be mailed, faxed, or emailed and should include
a brief (one paragraph) description of need, the amount requested, and
the source of the remaining required tuition.
- Upon
approval, scholarship checks will be sent to the school sponsoring the
course, designated for credit to the requesting individual.
- In
the event individuals are unable to apply for scholarship, sponsoring
schools may access approved scholarship funds by providing names, descriptions
of need, amount requested, and source of the remaining required tuition.
