AMERC's Mission The mission of AMERC is to promote contextual, cross-cultural education for theological students, faculties, and other Christian leaders. Working primarily through an ecumenical consortium of theological schools, regional colleges or universities, oversight agencies of the church, and supporting organizations, AMERC supports experiential learning about the theological, spiritual, social, economic and environmental aspects of Appalachian culture, especially for ministry in rural and small town settings.
